Protecting the Town of Foster since 1928.
Our history
The South Foster Volunteer Fire Company was established in 1928. Nearly a century later we have new apparatus, a new station, and new members. Our fire company is still volunteer; our EMS division, Foster EMS, is now career-staffed around the clock to meet 911 call demand.
The Town of Foster provides part of our funding. The rest of our operating budget comes from donations and fundraising by the community we protect. Every dollar given locally goes back into equipment, training, and readiness.

What we do
Fire & rescue
Structure fires, brush and wildland fire, motor vehicle crashes and extrication, and other rescues across northern Foster.
Foster EMS
We answer every 911 medical call in town as “South Foster Fire Department #1 DBA Foster EMS.” See our run statistics ›
Community
Free smoke & CO detector inspections, public education, standbys at town events, and our annual Fall Foliage Road Race.
